Lookouts loop

Champlain and Huron lookouts 002

Another after work ski. Melting was more evident although there is still lots of snow. The track alternated icy or sticky depending on shading from the sun. Poling was the way to move and a great arm workout. I stopped for a nice break at Champlain before heading back to the car. The descent was pretty fast as the track had iced up by then. Hoping to be able to get out again next week!

Got out for a similar ski last night at ~ 8pm. Things were pretty icy then but still skiable. I think we should be safe for some skiing next week. Not as much rain in the forecast... and maybe some of it will be snow in the park!

I think the conditions are great for skating but not so much for classic. That said, any sunny day out skiing is a great day!
